The Synopsis

Halfway There takes place in a group home for young adults (20 - 40 years old) with mild to moderate psychiatric problems. Designed as a stepping-stone from mental institutions to independent living in the community. Also designed to make money - only the wealthy need apply. Set up in an old building, a former fancy resort in the country, with a homey atmosphere.

Max and Claire are residents who fall in love and eventually marry, after surviving an initial misunderstanding (Claire thought Max was a staff member) and the arrival of bad boy Frank who for a short time became Claire's new love interest. Max has many mentors who guide him through all this, including Teddy - the director, Ronni - the music therapist, and Willy - the old man who has remained from days long gone by as the handyman.
